Melody Ember Dyer @ UMS Partners Philadelphia PA, 2008 10 03
Here are some pictures from the opening night of Melody's show on Friday. The UMS Partners building is in a refurbished bank. On the lower right you can see Melody's marquee.
Several of her pieces hung on the walls of an entranceway. You can see the bank vault in the rear.
This is an edit of the above photo showing the Acrylic on the right. This is one of Melody's earlier pieces, she has been working with Oils more recently. She likes to work with the oil on canvas because it is significantly less fragile than the acrylic medium.
This is a photo of the room with some of it's visitors. While we were there, there were a couple of droves of people that filled the room a few times. Melody had sold two pieces by the time we had arrived.
And finally a picture of Billie Jo with the star of the show.
We had a good time, it was great to get an opportunity to go down to the city for First Friday. We have been wanting to go down for a while but always seem to be busy.

Slide show Bangkok Thailand December 2007 and January 2008
These are five slide shows of pictures from a recent trip to Thailand. The "Videos" are basically designed to be viewed in sequence. This is the first program, the second show is the Phi Phi Island/James Bond Island Post. This is followed by the Tourist Video and then the Chang Mai/Chang Rai Video. The last slide show in the sequence is the Folks video which is basically friends and family. All of the slide shows have musical accompaniment so turn on those speakers. The sound on the Phuket/Phi Phi Island/James Bond Island Video is slightly low so turn that one up!
This opening video is shots of Bangkok, including a couple from a small tavern where we celebrated New Year's Eve.

Phuket - Phi Phi Islands - James Bond Island
The first half of this video is basically shots from a boat trip we took from Phuket to the Phi Phi Islands. The second half is from an early morning trip to James Bond Island. One of the pictures in the Phi Phi Islands portion is of a beach within a cove, This is where the film "the Beach" was shot.
James Bond Island is the setting for several scenes at the beginning and end of "The Man with the Golden Gun". We also went on a canoe trip on this leg of our tour. The canoes took us through several caves that once were used by pirates to hide their bounty.
The first song in the sequence was written and performed by Evelyn and Kris.

Temples and Sights
This video is comprised a lot of the touring we did in Thailand. These sights include Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Grand Palace and the former capital Ayutthaya. This sequence ends with a series of spirit house photos. The spirit house is made to hold in the evil spirits and keep them out of ones home. The last photo is of the spirit house in my aunt and uncles home.
Chang Mai Chang Rai
These pictures are from Chang Mai and Chang Rai and on the trip between the two cities. This includes visiting a community of Hill Tribe People and the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle is located at the intersection of Myanmar (Burma), Laos, and Thailand - This is only 2 hours from China.
The pictures at the end are mostly filler and greatest hits from the other slide shows.
